- The client
Veritas Cultural Center ETS
The project arises from the desire of the Veritas Cultural Center ETS to make the historical paths taken by Saint Ignatius of Loyola in Rome more accessible, current, and engaging. These are spiritual itineraries deeply linked to tradition, but today they confront the necessity of also speaking to a digital, curious, and mobile audience.
- Needs
The challenge to be faced
The client had the need to offer a modern and interactive tool that could accompany pilgrims along the Ignatian paths. Not just a simple informational support, but a true travel companion, capable of:
- Guiding step by step thanks to GPS
- Proposing spiritual content related to the places traversed
- Engaging users of different ages and backgrounds, even remotely
- Enhancing cultural and religious heritage in an innovative way.
The goal was to unite the depth of the spiritual experience with the communicative power of technology.
- The project
An interactive experience on the ignatian paths
To meet these needs, eLabor created an interactive web app, usable from mobile devices, which integrates::
-
Geolocation via GPS, to physically accompany pilgrims along the stages of the paths;
-
Dynamic maps with points of interest that activate automatically based on the user’s location;
-
Multimedia content that tells the story, spirituality, and context of the places visited;
-
Routes accessible even remotely, allowing those who cannot travel to experience a virtual journey;
The designed interface is simple, intuitive, and accessible, created to accompany both experienced travelers and those approaching the Ignatian world for the first time.
A more conscious and guided journey
Users appreciated the opportunity to experience the journey in a more conscious and immersive way, feeling accompanied in every phase of the trip. The use of GPS facilitated orientation and strengthened the connection between the physical place and inner reflection.
Cultural enhancement and new audience segments
Moreover, the digital approach expanded the audience: many young people, schools, and cultural tourists approached the Ignatian experience thanks to the interactive and multimedia mode of the app. The project thus proved to be an effective tool for cultural and spiritual enhancement, capable of connecting the past and present in a new, accessible, and profound way.
